About Me.

Hi, I’m Space — part-time ancestor detective, full-time history nerd, and the slightly sleep-deprived human behind Journaling Histories.

Unlike many genealogy bloggers, I haven’t been doing this for 50 years (give me some time). What I do have is a huge curiosity, a fascination with old records (that really should’ve been written in better handwriting), and a determination to turn family history into something fun, relatable, and maybe even binge-worthy.

I started digging into my own family tree as a teenager because history has always had me in a tight hug. One census led to another, and before I knew it, I was spending Friday nights arguing with 18th-century spelling choices. (Spoiler: the census taker always wins.)

If you’re new to genealogy, welcome! I promise you don’t need to be an “expert” (whatever that means) to get started.

If you’re a seasoned researcher, welcome! I hope you’ll enjoy seeing family history told with a bit more humor than maybe you’re used to.

So grab your metaphorical (or physical) magnifying glass and maybe some tea, and let’s go find out what our ancestors were really up to.

For the record, neither of these photos are mine.
